Easy Recipe For Chicken Lasagna:

Lasagna is flat-shaped pasta. It is mainly made with minced meat but today we’ll use Julien styled chicken pieces. Chicken Lasagna is a very famous and probably the oldest styled pasta. I’ll post some step by step pictures in the end as well. For my own convenience I have mixed Chicken gravy and cheese sauce.
So enjoy this simple and easy recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

ITEMS                                  QUANTITY

Lasagna Strips                          9

Salt                                            1 tablespoon

Oil                                             1 tablespoon

For Chicken Gravy:

Chicken boneless                 ½ kilograms

Garlic                                    1 teaspoon crushed

Onion                                   1 chopped

Capsicum                            1

Salt                                      1 teaspoon leveled

Black Pepper                     1 teaspoon

Tomato Paste                   3 tomatoes blended

Mixed Herbs                    1 teaspoon

Ketchup                            ½ cup

Oil                                     ¼ cup

 

Cheese Sauce:

Butter                              2 tablespoon

Flour                               2 Tablespoon

Salt                                  ¼ teaspoon

White Pepper                 ¼ teaspoon

Cheddar Cheese           ½ Cup grated

Milk                                 1 Cup

Chicken Stock                1 cup

 

For Garnish:

Oregano Leaves

Cheddar Cheese

Parmesan Cheese      1 tablespoon

 

PREPARATION:

In boiling water put salt, oil and lasagna strips. Boil for 15 to 20 minutes till tender.

Cut boneless chicken into Julien shape.

Chop onion and cut thick strips of capsicum.

 

METHOD:

Chicken Sauce:

Heat oil in a pan and fry garlic until golden.

Add chopped onions and saute’.

Now add chicken and fry it a little.

Next add salt and pepper.

Now add tomato paste/ puree and ketchup.

When chicken pieces are tender sprinkle herbs.

 

Cheese Sauce:

Take a pan and melt butter.

Put flour, salt and white pepper; fry it.

Add milk and stock; cook for 2 minutes or until thicken.

Keep stirring slowly to prevent lumps.

Lastly add grated cheese.

 

ASSEMBLING:

Take an oven proof dish and grease it.

Place 3 lasagna strips in bottom.

Add half of chicken sauce and spread evenly.

Sprinkle half capsicum.

Now top it with 1/3 of cheese sauce. Again spread evenly.

Put 3 more lasagna strips now.

Pour the remaining chicken sauce; spread evenly.

Again sprinkle the other half of capsicum.

Top it again with 1/3 of cheese sauce.

Layer it with last 3 lasagna strips.

Take rest of the cheese sauce and pour evenly.

Finally sprinkle some cheddar cheese, oregano and Parmesan cheese (If available).

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve hot.

TIPS:

After boiling lasagna strips put them in cold water so that they don’t stick together.

If after baking golden texture is not obtain you can grill it for 2 to 3 minutes as well.

You can also use mozzarella Cheese, minced meat (either of Chicken or beef).

According to your taste you can add different vegetables as well.

  1. I’m a huge pasta/ lasagna fan. What I dislike the most about lasagna at cafes is that it is smothered with bland tomato paste.
