Recipe of Homemade waffles on a Grill Pan:
Who doesn’t love waffle!!??!! When some years back I started eating waffle and ice cream at restaurants I instantly became a fan. Its really easy to make waffles at home but for that you need a waffle maker. Many people don’t own a waffle machine, so I have figured out an easy alternative; homemade waffles on a grill pan 🙂
Ofcourse they are not the perfect alternative as they are not thick and crusty like waffles from a waffle maker. Also everyone don’t own a grill pan so I have another alternative but that will be a separate post 😉
So lets start waffling 😀
Preparation time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes
Course: Snack, Desserts
Serves: 8 to 10
All purpose Flour 2 Cups
Baking Powder 4 Tea Spoons
Sugar 1 Table Spoon
Salt ¼ Tea Spoon
Vanilla Essence ½ Teaspoon
Milk 1 ¾ Cups
Oil ½ Cup
Pre-heat grill pan and grease well the pan to prevent waffles from sticking.
Take a large bowl and whisk 2 eggs with a hand beater until fluffy.
Sieve all purpose flour and baking powder, set aside.
Combine beaten eggs, all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, Vanilla essence, milk and oil.
Mix well until the mixture is smooth and lump free.
Reduce the flame under the grill pan so that waffles turn crispy.
Take around 1/4 cup of mixture and pour on a grill pan.
Try pouring in a square or a round shape.
When the batter starts bubbling check from side, if its golden n crispy flip the waffle carefully and cook the other side in the same way.
You can either serve the waffles hot form the pan or cool them a little before serving.
Serve with Icecream, Fresh fruits, Whipped cream, chopped nuts, chocolate syrup, Maple syrup, honey or anyother that you prefer.
You can easily double or half the quantity as per your requirement.
You can store the batter in fridge for 2 days. Just whisk well before using again.
