Recipe for Mutton Chops in Green Sauce

Mutton Chops are an all-time favorite dish throughout the world. There are many ways to cook mutton chops but this is an easy and mild flavored recipe with less ingredients. It is suitable for all age groups.

Preparation time:2 hours  Cooking time:20-30 mins  Serves:8 to 10  Coarse:Lunch, Dinner

 

INGREDIENTS:

ITEMS                          QUANTITY
Mutton Chops 1 KG
Coriander 1 bunch
Green Chilies 6 – 8 pieces
Garlic Paste 1 table spoon
Ginger Paste 1 table spoon
Red chilie powder ½ – 1 tea spoon
Salt as to taste
White vinegar ¼ cup
Oil for deep frying
FOR BATTER
Flour 1 cup
Egg 1
Red chilie powder ¼ tea spoon
Salt  ¼ tea spoon

 

MARINATION:

Take coriander and green chilies and blend well in ½ cup of water.

Take a large bowl and put mutton chops in it.

Now pour the mixture of blended coriander and green chilies on chops.

Put in ginger paste, garlic paste, salt, red chilie powder and white vinegar and mix everything well.

Put aside and marinate for 1- 1 ½ hours.

METHOD:

Take a pan, preferably wide in size.

Put chops in pan on low flame till tender and done.

Make sure the meat is not soft enough that it separates from the bones.

Dry the remaining water.

FOR FRYING:

Now take a medium sized bowl and put flour, egg, salt and red chilie powder in it.

Take ¼ – ½ cup of water and dissolve the dry ingredients in it. Make sure the batter should neither be thick nor runny.

Heat oil, dip the chops in batter and deep fry them.

Fry them till golden brown.

Take out and put on kitchen tissue paper to soak excess oil.

Serve hot with French fries, green sauce, salad, raita or ketchup. They go well with any sauce.

You can also sprinkle fresh lemon juice and all spice powder (garam masala) on it.

TIP:

Dip chops one by one in to the batter and then put them in frying pan.

You can prepare chop before hand and when needed coat in batter and deep fry.
